We are celebrating a Latin Caribbean Summer at molaa.
Enjoy the monthlong journey through the Latin Caribbean and Brazil as we explore the language, art culture and food of Brazil, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. Each week we will focus on the culture and art from Latin American cultures in the Caribbean.
Spanish language instruction will be provided for both the beginner (descubridores) and advanced (exploradores) speakers. All classes will be taught in Spanish and English. Classes will include: music, dance, studio art, gallery tours, instrument making, capoeira and Afro-Latin rhythms. This unique experience will culminate in a celebration of performance and presentation of the young artists!
The program has been designed to:
- Allow children to develop basic to advanced Spanish language skills at an early age.
- Provide non-Hispanic children the opportunity to speak Spanish as a second language and to expand their language abilities in a full immersion environment.
- Connect children to the rich cultures of Latin America through fun, cultural and artistic activities.
- Cultivate cultural pride and healthy identity in children from a Hispanic heritage, and create an appreciation for the richness and diversity of the Hispanic heritage for non Hispanic children.
