Target Free Sundays@MOLAA: Enjoy docent-led tours of the galleries or discover the museum on your own. Free admission sponsored by Target, 11:00am - 5:00pm
Target Free ArtVenture Sundays: Join local artists for interactive gallery explorations and hands-on workshops. Every third Sunday of the month.
Target Free Family Festivals: Highlighting cultural traditions from throughout Latin America through art workshops, live performances and interactive presentations! Free admission sponsored by Target from 11:00am - 5:00pm
- February—Afro-Latino Festival—Learn about the African legacy in Latin America at a festival honoring Black History Month.
- March—Women’s Day Festival—An annual recognition of the contributions made by women to the arts, this festival also includes a virtual display of art by local women. To learn about how you can participate write to education@molaa.org.
- May—Cinco de Mayo—Enjoy performance by local dancers and musicians as we celebrate Mexican culture.
- July—Music Festival—MOLAA’s sculpture garden hosts Los Angeles based bands performing traditional and contemporary Latin infused music.
- September—Latino/a Heritage Festival—Discover the diversity of Latin@ culture at this festival represents the cultures of North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
- October—Dia de los Muertos Festival—Celebrate life and honor your dearly departed at our annual Day of the Dead Festival. To learn about how you can participate in MOLAA’s annual Altar Contest, please write to education@molaa.org.

FOR YOUTH:
Summer Art & Culture Camps: MOLAA offers a variety of bilingual camps for children ages 6-16 in July & August. Ultimate Art Lucha introduces young participants (ages 6-9) to basic visual art processes and Latin American culture through movement, art and culinary workshops. Art Slam! focuses on DIY craft, and more advanced art projects for campers ages 10-12. iCamp, for teens ages 13-16, is a more advanced exploration of visual arts and Latin American culture through gallery discussions and individual and group art projects. Dates and times vary. Need-based scholarships are available to those who qualify.
FOR ADULTS:
ArtCh@t: MOLAA curators discuss topics in modern and contemporary art with local and international scholars and artists. Quarterly.
Buen Provecho: Prepare traditional and contemporary recipes with local chefs. Each workshop includes a small tasting. Quarterly.
FOCUS on Art: An interactive presentation given by MOLAA docents, exploring the life and work of one of the artists currently on exhibit in our galleries. Every 4th Sunday at 1:00pm.

Self-Guided Tours:
Visitors who choose to navigate the galleries on their own may find the Activity Guides, located to the left of this page, helpful. To request a Visitor’s Guide, write to education@molaa.org
Guided tours allow for a more in-depth exploration of the galleries, with discussions and activities led by a docent. Workshops are taught by professional teaching artists, who provide a creative and safe environment for individual expression.

Group Tours & Workshops: Group visits are available Wednesday-Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Visitors of all ages can participate in a self-guided tour, a docent-led tour or a combination docent-led tour and art workshop experience. MOLAA Curricula meet California Visual Arts Standards. Topics are based on current exhibitions. To receive a Visitor’s Guide with current topics, write to education@molaa.org
Altars and Calaveras: An Exploration of the Days of the Dead—Discover the images and traditions related to Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Visitors will view artworks that explore images of mortality in our galleries, as well altars created by local artists. A teaching artist will then lead them in a workshop creating their own mini altars. Pre and post-visit materials available. Día de los Muertos tours available from October 23rd through November 1st, 2013.
MOLAA in the Classroom: An interdisciplinary Arts and Social Science curriculum for 10th and 11th graders that includes pre and post-visit materials and activities as well as a tour of the galleries and an art workshop with our artists. Students use document based questioning to identify and define Social Studies concepts and terms via the objects in MOLAA’s art exhibitions. A limited number of FULL Scholarships are available to high schools in Los Angeles City Council Districts 8, 9, and 15, due to a grant from the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
