
On its third consecutive year, MOLAA Awards 08: An invitational Juried Art Competition has become the museum’s signature event among mid-career and emerging artists from Latin America, the Spanish speaking Caribbean and the United States.
This year, the competition exhibition is made up of 83 outstanding works that make up four main categories: Two-Dimensional Art; Three-Dimensional Art; Photography and Video and Works on Paper. Three distinguished judges will select five winners, awarding prize monies totaling $40,000, which includes a Best of Show award of $20,000!
Winning works become part of MOLAA’s Permanent Collection. All other works are auctioned during Auction 08. Winners will be announced during the Round Table Discussion on Saturday, October 18, 2008.

Jose Tasende Mr. Jose Tasende is the President of Tasende Gallery. Established in the late 1960s in Acapulco, Mexico, Tasende Gallery is internationally recognized for representing some of the most important 20th Century artists.
