ARTIST LISTING

Rodolfo Morales

Rodolfo Morales was born in the small village of Ocotlán, Oaxaca, Mexico and was recognized by Rufino Tamayo in the 1950s as Mexico’s most Mexican painter. Morales’ paintings usually depict scenes of rural pueblos, such as his native village, often filled with fabulously floating figures saturated in brilliant color. His figures and faces reveal the mestizaje of the Mexican, the historic mixing of the different races – the indigenous, European and African black.
